It emerged as an initiative of&nbsp;<strong>the Ulises Syndrome Programme<\/strong>&nbsp;at the University of Barcelona and the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley, both institutions with extensive experience in immigrant mental health.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-subtitle stk-block-subtitle stk-block stk-6267a90\" data-block-id=\"6267a90\"><p class=\"stk-block-subtitle__text stk-subtitle\"><strong><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-4, #192a3d);\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Why was the Athena Network created?<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-4b537b0\" data-block-id=\"4b537b0\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\"><span style=\"color: var(--theme-palette-color-4, #192a3d);\" class=\"stk-highlight\">The Athena Network was born out of the observation of two key ideas: on one hand, the increasing number of extreme and dangerous situations faced by some migrants, and on the other hand, the existing gaps in current support networks.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<section style=\"background-color:#FFF9E0;
